Greece
Greece is one well known country for mythology. For most people that are not interested in mythology, this is the only form they know. Many say Greece is where mythology began, but I do not believe that. Greek myths are very much like legends. Towards the dawn of Greece it was very distinguished because of a mountain range that surrounds the country. The Greeks did not have a form of writing then either so the only way the beginning of Greece is known is by stories being told to each generation. Well, overtime these stories slightly change. This is why some things have two myths for it's creation or journeys. So the beginning of Greece is not clear because of these stories or myths.
Rome
Roman mythology is not as well known as Greek mythology. Although, it has some of the same gods as Greek. Many just changed their names and personalities. For example, Zeus changed his name to Jupiter but remained the god of the sky and King of the Olympians. Hera changed her name to Juno but remained Zeus's(Jupiter's) wife and Queen of the Olympians. Every Roman demigod that joined the legion had a permanent mark on their arm with the letters S.P.Q.R. This stands for Senatus Populus Que Romanus.
Egypt
Egyptian mythology is even lesser known than Roman. Egypt has many different gods and goddesses than Greek or Roman. Some of Egypt's gods are Apophis, Ra, and Osiris. Egypt may not be one of the more commonly known forms of mythology, but it was one of the very firsts. Egyptian mythology includes magicians. In each person, there are five forms of their body: their ba, ren, ib, ka, and sheut. There are four types of elemental magic. There is air, water, fire, and earth.
Norse
Many people might have heard stories or watched movies about Norse mythology, but they did not know some people believed in it. They might not have known that it was a form of mythology. Norse mythology includes many known figures such as Odin, Thor, and Loki. There are nine worlds in this mythology including Asgard; Misgard, or Earth; Vanaheim, home of the Venir; and Alfheim, home of the light elves. There is also Jotunheim, home of the giants; Svartalfheim, home of the dark elves; Nidavellir, home to the dwarfs; Niflheim, where Helheim is located underground; and Muspelheim, home of the fire giants and demons.
